Hi, I’m Brooklyn!

ABOUT THE EDITOR

I’m a writer, editor, soon-to-be published author, and all-around creative. I live on a farm in the Pacific Northwest, where one of my greatest joys and deepest pleasures is sharing my thoughts through blog posts or in the writing of my novel or other short stories.

Pursuing an education in both Copywriting and Editing, when I’m not writing, you can find me hanging out with and going on adventures with my family, making and drinking all the coffee, creating priceless memories with friends, buying more plants (I’m a big-time plant nerd), or trying to figure how I can snowboard as much as physically possible in the winter months. I’m also the proud owner of my three pigs, Tilley, Freya, and Douglas, who often times find their way into my posts.

My experience.

As an editor for United House Publishing, I’ve gained valuable experience working on many published works. I’m always growing my knowledge, currently working toward earning the EFA Certificate in Proofreading and Copyediting with The Chicago Manual of Style. With years of hands-on editing and ongoing education, I’m committed to honing my skills and deepening my knowledge.

I believe there's always room to learn, and no certification or degree will ever stop my drive to keep improving. The knowledge I’ve gained isn’t just for me—my goal is to pass it on so others can improve their writing and, more importantly, find joy in the editing process. Editing is where your story really starts to shine, and it’s the exciting moment when you realize your story is nearly ready to be shared with the world.

With over seven years of consistent writing and editing experience, I’ve often found myself eager to share new insights with fellow writers so they, too, can grow. That’s my mission: not just to polish your work, but to encourage you every step of the way. I’m here to be your biggest cheerleader, ready to support you as you bring your story to life.

Not sure which services are right for you? Let’s chat! I’d love to help you discover how I can best support you and your story.

TESTIMONIALS

Copyediting & Proofreading Testimonial:

“Brooklyn’s experience as a copyeditor and love for travel is the perfect combination for me. Her role to fine-tune my novel by fixing grammatical errors, eliminating jargon, fact-checking, adherence to my own style-guide peculiarities, while respecting my author’s voice, was exactly what I needed. I look forward to working with Brooklyn on my future stories.”

Editing is a vital part of the publishing process, but let’s be honest—it can feel overwhelming, right?

I’m guessing it’s when you’re so close to sharing your story with the world, but it still needs that final polish and approval to be the story it deserves—one that resonates with readers, flows smoothly, and is free from plot holes and errors.

My favorite part of storytelling is taking what you’ve created and helping it shine even brighter—that’s the magic of editing.

READY TO WORK TOGETHER?

Editing doesn’t change what you’ve written; it just ensures your message touches your reader clearly.

Have you ever completed a first draft and felt unsure about the next steps? Most writers start with a messy first draft, and it’s my joy and privilege to read your work. I’m here not only to suggest improvements but to encourage you throughout the process. My goal is to help your story shine and support your growth as a writer, so you can continue improving and honing your craft.

THE PROCESS

If you’re into hope-filled posts, tips for writing + publishing, some solid book recs and the occasional picture of the newest animal joining the farm—then you’ve come to the right place.
