why editing?

It transforms a rough draft into a polished, professional piece

Editing is where your writing finds clarity, strength, and purpose. It refines flow, sharpens your message, and ensures every word serves a clear intention. Through thoughtful editing, ideas become cohesive, your voice grows more confident, and distractions like errors or awkward phrasing are removed.

It allows your message to land clearly and intentionally, helping readers stay engaged from beginning to end. Whether it’s a website page, social media caption, email, blog post, or novel, editing elevates your work, bringing depth, precision, and professionalism so your writing truly shines and reflects the quality behind your ideas.

ready to work together?

Editing is a vital part of the publishing process, but let’s be honest—it can feel overwhelming, right?

It’s that moment when you’re close to sharing your story with the world, but it still needs a final polish—so it flows smoothly, resonates with readers, and is free from easy-to-miss errors. It’s where your draft becomes a story readers can truly experience and remember.

let’s get started!

Editing doesn’t change what you’ve written; it just ensures your message touches your reader clearly.

My favorite part of storytelling is taking what you’ve created and helping it shine even brighter—that’s the magic of editing.

  • “Her role to fine-tune my novel by fixing grammatical errors, eliminating jargon, fact-checking, adherence to my own style-guide peculiarities, while respecting my author’s voice, was exactly what I needed.”

Proofreading

$5 per 1,000 words

Proofreading is the final step before your manuscript is shared with readers. I carefully read through your manuscript to correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and minor formatting issues so your writing feels polished, professional, and ready to be published.

This final polish helps ensure nothing distracts readers from the story you’ve worked so hard to create.

Meet the editor

Hello, I’m Brooklyn

My love for editing grew from an endless obsession with reading—from being the neighborhood “librarian,” stocking little free libraries around town, to starting a book club with my best friend in my early teens. Books have always been a place of learning and growth for me.

As my love for reading grew, so did my understanding of what makes a story work. That curiosity led me into editing, where I earned my EFA Certificate in Proofreading and Copyediting with The Chicago Manual of Style. I also began as a high school intern copyeditor at a publishing house, which later became permanent.

Over the years, my love for editing has only grown. Today, I run my own editing business, helping authors refine their stories and make them shine.
