Developmental Editing
$10 per 1,000 words
Developmental editing focuses on the big picture of your story. At this stage, I look closely at elements like plot structure, pacing, character development, and overall story flow. My goal is to help you strengthen the foundation of your manuscript so your story connects deeply with readers and unfolds in the most compelling way possible.
You’ll receive thoughtful feedback designed to guide you as you revise, helping you see both what is working well and where your story could grow stronger.
Line & Copyediting
$9 per 1,000 words
Copyediting focuses on strengthening your writing at the sentence level while preserving your unique author voice. During this stage, I carefully edit your manuscript to improve grammar, clarity, sentence flow, and consistency. My goal is to help your story read smoothly and professionally while making sure the meaning and tone of your writing remain completely your own.

This final polish helps ensure nothing distracts readers from the story you’ve worked so hard to create.

Hello, I’m Brooklyn
My love for editing grew from an endless obsession with reading—from being the neighborhood “librarian,” stocking little free libraries around town, to starting a book club with my best friend in my early teens. Books have always been a place of learning and growth for me.
As my love for reading grew, so did my understanding of what makes a story work. That curiosity led me into editing, where I earned my EFA Certificate in Proofreading and Copyediting with The Chicago Manual of Style. I also began as a high school intern copyeditor at a publishing house, which later became permanent.
Over the years, my love for editing has only grown. Today, I run my own editing business, helping authors refine their stories and make them shine.
