I’m the face behind Brooklyn Rose, and it felt about time for a little reintroduction—because a lot has changed this past year!!

I grew up completely immersed in books—reading, writing, and falling in love with the power of words. That love turned into a curiosity for *how* great writing works… and that’s where editing came in

What started as two passions—writing and refining words—quickly became something so much bigger, and I’m so thrilled you’re here!! 🫶🏻

Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours blogging, working as a remote copyeditor for a publishing company, earning my certification in copyediting + proofreading, and helping bring authors’ words into the hands of readers (still feels surreal to say that!!)

I basically get to read books for a living… and I wouldn’t trade it for anything 💫

My goal? To support your work and be your biggest cheerleader—because you’re creating something, and that’s always worth celebrating!! 🙌🏼

Always working on sharpening my editing skills 📖✍️

Right now I’m working through The Copyeditor’s Handbook—basically the behind-the-scenes guide that helps turn good writing into polished, professional content. I originally used this book while earning my EFA Certificate in Proofreading and Copyediting with The Chicago Manual of Style, and it’s still incredibly helpful.

Copyediting isn’t just about catching typos. It’s about:

• Clarity (does this actually make sense?)
• Consistency (are we saying things the same way throughout?)
• Flow (does it read smoothly?)

I truly believe learning never stops—even in your chosen field. There’s always something new to practice, refine, and revisit. Continuously learning and applying these skills sharpens how I approach writing—for my work, my clients, and my own projects.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes writing feel “clean” and easy to read… this is a big part of it. Finding a copyeditor who understands the craft—and genuinely enjoys it—makes all the difference. It’s what turns good writing into something great!!
